Hello everyone! It’s Polly Karen here. Did everyone survive and enjoy MOC last month? I know I sure did! What a fabulous whirlwind of scrapping! For those of you who are missing your daily dose of TLP Challenges, I’m here with a look at the new batch of monthly challenges. We have even added one more challenge each month to give you more opportunities for creating pages! What’s that you say? One MORE challenge? Well, now instead of 7 monthly challenges, we’ve added an eighth challenge. You do not have to complete all 8 challenges in order to have a change to win a guest spot on the creative team either, we added another one for those who have requested more challenges and you still only have to complete 7 of them to be considered for a guest spot on the creative team! You can choose one to skip if you want! So, mostly everything remains the same. You complete challenges in order to earn a coupon of your next purchase in the store (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%) AND everyone who completes at least 7 challenges will be considered for a one month guest spot on the creative team (The Pollys). So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. Scraplift Challenge – Amanda (MandaKay) is hosting February’s Scraplift Challenge and is challenging you to scraplift yourself this month. She went back through her own gallery and found a page that inspired her to create a new layout. Here is her older layout and the newer scraplifted version:
2. Template Challenge – Heather (HeatherB) is the host for this month’s Template Challenge. The free template to use this month was supplied by the fabulous Valeria of Little Butterfly Wings. All you have to do is download the free template and create a layout using it. Here is the template followed by a sample layout created by Amanda:
3. Style Challenge – February’s Style Challenge is hosted by Heather (talktoheather). She is challenging you (and herself) to fill up your page with digi goodness. As a primarily white scrapper Heather decided to challenge herself to stretch her normal style and created this super fun layout:
4. Random Challenge – Ashley (ashleywb) is hosting the Random Challenge this month. She is challenging you to go back to the 31 challenges posted for the Month of Challenges (MOC) last month and pick one that you want to do again (or the first time if you didn’t play along with them all). Ashley chose the challenge from January 27th for the Paper to Digi Challenge and created this gorgeous page:
5. Photography Challenge – The Photography Challenge is the new challenge that we’ve added for this year and it’s hosted by our new Challenge Polly Lori (lcpereyra). Lory is challenging you to pull out your camera and snap a photo of your view right now. Here is her take on the challenge:
6. Journaling Challenge – Renee (renee82) is hosting the Journaling Challenge for February. Renee is challenging you to create a layout and journal about something you love and why. Renee created this sweet layout:
7. Inspiration Challenge – Julie (mrs2a50) is hosting February’s Inspiration Challenge. She wants you to create a layout using the song “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong as your inspiration. You must also include the phrase “What a Wonderful World” on your layout. Here is a layout created by Julie:
8. BYOC Challenge – Last, but certainly not least is the BYOC Challenge. February’s BYOC Challenge will be posted to the forum on Friday, February 5th when all the new BYOC Products for February will be released in the store. This challenge, hosted by Amanda (gracielou), is to use 90% of the products on your page from the current BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.
Challenge Galleries: (post your pages to these galleries)
I know it’s not 31 challenges, but there are 8 great new challenges to keep you busy for a little while this month! Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above. Then be sure to also post them to the appropriate thread in the challenge forum. See the thread HERE for further challenge guidelines and see the February Challenge Pad HERE to get started! Don’t forget to post all of your completed layouts in the Challenge Layouts thread so we can be sure to get you the proper coupon at the end of the month. I’ll be back near the end of the month to shine the spotlight on some of the pages created for these challenges! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Happy scrapping!
