Hello everyone! It’s Polly Karen here bringing you the monthly overview of the 7 new challenges for September.
As a reminder, based on our percentage system, you can earn three levels of coupons for the store just by participating in our monthly challenges. In addition to the coupon, if you complete all 7 challenges within the month of September, you will be entered in a drawing to win a one month guest spot on the Lilypad Creative Team! The discounts available are as follows: 2 challenges = 10% off, 4 challenges = 20% off and 6 challenges = 30% off. Now let’s take a look at the new challenges:
1. Scraplift Challenge – This month the scraplift challenge is back and is hosted by Renee (renee82). Renee has selected the talented Katydid as the scrapper to lift for September. All you have to do is go to Katydid’s gallery HERE and find a page that inspires you and then create a layout based on her page. Here is a layout that Renee picked followed by her scraplifted version:
2. Product Challenge – This month’s Product Challenge is being hosted by Amanda (MandayKay). Amanda has picked Date Elements as the product to play with this month. We all should put a date on every page, so this is a great way to make sure your layout has a date on it! Here is a layout created by Amanda:
3. One Word Challenge – September’s One Word Challenge is hosted by Amanda (gracielou) and she has picked “Life” as the One Word for this month. All you have to do is use “Life” in some way on your page. Here is a sample layout created by Amanda:
4. Fill-It-Up Challenge – This challenge for September is hosted by Julie (mrs2a50). She is known far and wide as a white space scrapper, so I love that she is hosting this challenge to fill up her page… AND I think she did it fabulously! Here is her page all filled up:
5. Inspiration Challenge – Heather (talktoheather) is hosting September’s Inspiration challenge. Heather is using a photo of a trash polka tattoo as inspiration. Your page must be all black and white (minimal kraft is also allowed) with only one colored item. Here’s the inspiration photo followed by Heather’s sample layout:
6. Random Challenge – The Random challenge for September is hosted by Ashley (ashleywb) and she wants you to create a layout that shows a comparison between at least two photos. Here is a great example page that Ashley created:
7. BYOC Challenge - Last, but certainly not least is the BYOC Challenge. September’s BYOC Challenge will be posted to the forum tomorrow, Friday, September 4th when all the new BYOC Products for September will be released in the store. This challenge, hosted by Heather (HeatherB), is to use 90% of the products on your page from the current BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.
Challenge Galleries: (post your pages to these galleries)
There you have your at-a-glance look at all of the new challenges for September. Now you can go create your own layouts inspired by these challenges and then post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above. Then be sure to also post them to the appropriate thread in the challenge forum. See the thread HERE for further challenge guidelines and see the September Challenge Pad HERE to get started! Don’t forget to post all of your completed layouts in the Challenge Layouts thread so we can be sure to get you the proper coupon at the end of the month.
