Hello! Polly Karen here bring you another installment of the popular Polly Picks! Every two weeks we ask one of our staff members to choose their favorite products in the shop. Then we put those products on sale! Our latest Polly Picks sale includes products chosen by the fabulous Nancy (NancyBeck):
Nancy (NancyBeck) is a newer Polly, but boy does she crank out the gorgeous pages. Nancy is another Polly and can switch seamlessly{ between pocket style pages and traditional scrapbook layouts and her gallery is full of gorgeous examples. I asked Nancy to describe her style, and this is what she had to say:
“I’d describe my style as having the look of a paper page in a digital world. I started taking photos and scrapping when my first Grandson was born 11 year ago. Going digital was a gradual process for me, starting small with thing like brushes and test that helped me achieve a more professional and sophisticated look on my pages. Even once I started making all digital pages, I still added stitching, buttons and brads to bridge the gap for me between the two worlds. But when I moved to Kansas 5 years ago to be with my only daughter and her family, my space was too dark and too far away from the hub of activity in our home and that is when I became fully digital. Every time I lift one of those heavy bulging albums from the early day down from the shelf, I know there is no going back for me. I just don’t like the bulk. Over the past 4 years, my first love has become pocket style scrapping. It has been the best vehicle I have found for telling our entire story. I get positively giddy with joy over the legacy I am leaving for these boys and still enjoy what I do as much today as I did when I started this journey 11 years ago. That being said, I also love pattern, color and embellishments as much as the next guy, so I am so grateful for the opportunity to play with all the fabulous new products the designers here at the Pad create for us every week. I make what I call more traditional pages with those, which go right in the album with our pocket pages. I’ve experimented with some digital artistry and loved that too, but as our self appointed family historian that is just not where I’m at right now in this journey. Who knows, maybe one day when the boys are older I may renew that interest as an outlet to play with the more adult version of the kinds of photos I would expect to be taking at that stage in my life. But, whatever road this hobby takes me down, I’m pretty sure one thing will remain constant and that is my love for the Lilypad!”
